CLAY RANKIN

Clay Rankin is a seasoned legal professional with both specialized and general practice experience. Throughout his career, Rankin has led law firm initiatives to apply digital technologies in the service of legal practice, employing technology for document management, preservation, analysis, trial presentation and compliance.

EDUCATION

Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, he attended Tulane University from 1961 to 1964, where he majored in psychology. Rankin attended the University of Alabama School of Law (1964- 1967), where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Alabama Law Review (1966- 1967) and was a member of the Order of the Coif and Bench and Bar.

EXPERIENCE

He joined the Hand Arendall law firm in Mobile in 1967 and became a partner in 1972. He has also been a Proctor Member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States since 1972. Rankin opened Rankin Law LLC in Fairhope, Alabama in January 2014 after retiring from Hand Arendall. He continues in active civil trial practice in Mobile and Baldwin County. He assists other trial lawyers with pleadings, briefs and e-discovery issues.
